In Memory of Aaron Byrnes

Our dear Aaron fought a heroic battle with brain cancer. In mid-2019, newly married and having just turned 32-years-old, Aaron was diagnosed with a grade-3 astrocytoma brain tumour. He approached this challenge philosophically and with great resolve, and, under the guidance of his medical team, was able to suppress the tumour. Tragically, in late 2020 Aaron was diagnosed with a second, grade-4 astrocytoma brain tumour, which ultimately took his life.
All throughout Aaron’s battle he maintained a positive outlook, a sense of determination and the utmost care for others. With these things in mind, we hope to make a contribution to brain cancer research a part of Aaron’s legacy. He would have been honoured for his life to afford fellow sufferers a better outcome.
