Please untick the Gift Aid box when donating; I cannot claim Gift Aid on your donation due to the Institute of Fundraising’s guidelines, which DUCK are following!
Hi! My name is Aaron Waterhouse and I'm currently in my second year studying English Literature at Durham University. Last summer I was lucky enough to be chosen to take part in a 6-week expedition to Tanzania in aid of Save the Children and the FutureSense Foundation, through DUCK (Durham University Charities Committee), the hugely successful fundraising arm of the Durham Students' Union. DUCK supports and facilitates student fundraising for over 120 local, national and international charities every year. When I came to university at Durham, I never imagined that I’d have the opportunity to be involved in such an amazing and life-changing experience. It has inspired me to seek more adventure, so next summer I'm taking part in the DUCK expedition to the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia where, with your help, myself and 15 other Durham students will be working alongside two wildlife conservation projects. The Great Orang-utan Project provides award-winning volunteer opportunities to help the endangered Bornean orang-utans in the heart of the rainforest through improving husbandry standards, providing enrichment for the orang-utans, and assisting with the construction of vital infrastructure. The Globalteer Marine and Sea Turtle Conservation Project is a UK registered non-profit charity which focuses on coral reef conservation and regeneration, as well as the protection of the endangered Green and Hawksbill sea turtles which breed on the small island of Pom Pom.
Any donation, however small, will be greatly appreciated – every penny will help me to reach my fundraising target. Thank you!
