In December 2012 my sister's first born lost his fight for life. I am helping to raise money for the neo-natal ward that gave him a fighting chance and allowed us to spend as much time as possible with him. Any donation, whatever the size, will be very much appreciated! 

The ‘In your hands’ Appeal wants your help and support to provide state of the art facilities and equipment for women & children from Oldham, Rochdale and surrounding districts.

The new facilities will include: 

• A new neonatal intensive care unit for the smallest and most vulnerable babies 

• New delivery rooms and maternity beds 

• Obstetric theatres and a paediatric theatre 

• Refurbishment of existing wards and departments

Funds raised by the Appeal will buy a variety of medical equipment for sick children and babies and help furnish and enhance the new facility for pregnant women, children and parents. The money will go towards the following equipment:

• Neonatal transport incubator - £55,000
• Ultra-sound scanner for early pregnancy - £60,000
• Specialist neonatal cots - £20,000 each
• Sensory room for children - £25,000
• Special lighting and music equipment for women in labour
• Enhancing the environment within the children's wards and theatres
