The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

I crossed the channel! I crossed the channel!

6 hours, 23 mintues, 14 seconds from Hythe to a beach north of Bolougne.

A gruelleing challenge, nearly crushed to death in between two container ships but I made it.

Capsized, blew up my phone but I eskimo rolled back up and made it to a soft sandy French beach. First thing I did was say "houston the Eagle has landed" 2nd thing was I had to pee.

Remember, I've done all this for selfless reasons, there are many people out there with Autism and families who have to cope with people with autism living with them. The govenment has been cutting back support to disability over the last 3 years and I've done this as a chance for you the public to make a difference, also my prayers and best wishes go to Gary Mckinnon who I understand has autism and is nwo in Guantanamo bay.

MAY 26 Charity Channel Crossing by Kayak for Autism

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Big Kayak JustGiving page.

As you may know I suffer from Aspergers Syndrome which is a form of Autism.  I have decided to raise money for other children and adults who suffer from Autism and its related conditions by kayaking the English Channel from Dungeness to Bolougne.

Rather than do this without cause I have decided to use my challenge as an opportunity to raise some money and so am asking you to help me raise money for the National Autistic Society.

After a leg of my journey I take the boat out of the water and I make a camp. I have been living under a 4x3m sheet of tarpalin which folds into the kayak. I have so far kayaked all the way from Brighton in Sussex to Folkstone in Kent both by sea and the Royal Military Canal (which was a pain to get the kayak into and out of the water)

I have toured, Brighton, Newhaven, Cookmere haven, the 7 sisters, Berling gap, Eastbourne, Bexhill (safe to the Bexhill massive), Hastings, Pet level, Winchelsea, Rye, Appledore, Hythe, Seabrook and Folkstone.

If any of you need to get hold of me for photography or anything or even just a campfire cooked meal on the beach give me a call on 07881 703 870.

Big thanks to my cousin Margaret for all her help and support.

And a thank you to everyone I have met along my journey.
