Story
I am running the London Marathon next year for Children with Cancer UK to help raise money for young lives devastated by this completely horrific disease.
In July 2016 I was diagnosed with stage 2B Hodgkin Lymphoma. I had a tumour visible in my neck and a larger one hidden in my chest which had developed fairly rapidly. Luckily for me the prognosis is relatively good for Lymphomas, and following 8 sessions of chemotherapy, 15 fractions of radiotherapy + AMAZING support from family and friends, I managed to hit it for six, finishing treatment on 31st December 2016. I’m now carrying on life cancer free.
As a 'healthy' 25 year old at diagnosis, I cant even begin to imagine what it must be like for a child, a fraction of my age, to have to suffer the mental and physical pain I did, which is why I am going to be running 26.2 gruelling miles to help raise a hell of a lot of money for Children with Cancer UK.
Childhood cancers are different to the cancers that affect adults, and therefore, dedicated research into causes and treatments is needed, as well as proper support for their families before and after treatment. Your donations will help fund life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of childhood cancer.
So PLEASE help me to smash my target and see me across the finish line to support little people going through their cancer journey.
Any donation would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you!
Abbie x
