Hi my name is Abby Durant, myself and my mum are going to be biking the length of the Offas dyke path in the space of a week to raise money for the Bracken Trust. This is going to take place week commencing 17th August 2020.
The Bracken trust is a community run charity in Llandrindod, Powys, which helps family affected by cancer. As some of you may know, my mum has recently had cancer and has also recently beaten it. With the help from the Bracken she was able to seek support and advice throughout this awful time. Cancer is one of the worst Illnesses that a family can face and thanks to the Bracken we were able to get through it. She still gets support from them even though she has beaten cancer as they are there for support during and post cancer. They offer therapies from Counselling to massages. They aim to help make those suffering from cancer and those family affected by it by making them feel comfortable and having a safe place they can go where they aren’t going to be judged. 
Due to the global pandemic (COVID-19) the Bracken Trust hasn’t been able to fundraise as they usually would. Their summer fairs and charity shops have all been cancelled due to COVID. This means that the trust is struggling to support itself as it relies on community fundraising to run. As the trust has helped both myself and my mum we want to give back.
