I’ve decided to set myself this challenge because at the end of January I was diagnosed with a Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, and advised that swimming would help me to build strength in my joints and reduce my pain. 

To motivate myself to start, I decided that I’d set myself the challenge of swimming 5k once the new Spen Valley Leisure centre opens, and I’d do it to raise money for a cause I cared about. That’s why I’ve decided to fundraise towards getting Eden to America. Her story is linked in my page, and if you search Eden’s Army on Facebook you can find out more about her. Throughout all of the things she’s been through, she’s stayed smiling, she’s truly a fighter and I’d love to be able to help in some small way.
