My walk for Beat

Isle of Wight challenge · 1 May 2022
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page :)
I will be taking part in a 25km walk in order to raise money for the charity Beat!
BEAT- (eating dissorder charity)
To say 2021 wasn’t my year was an understatement, despite having The pressure of GCSEs and having to big leap from secondary to college,I was fighting the hardest battle for my life. I developed anorexia late 2020 and had was diagnosed January. I couldn’t see what others saw, I saw an overweight girl trying to loose weight whilst others where constantly trying to reassure me I wasn’t,and in the end they were right. I went from 66kg-50kg all in the space of 2 months. When I look back on this difficult time I think of all the experiences and missed opportunities I missed out on due to all this ; a whole season of rowing competitions, my last months at secondary, meeting up with friends in summer and many many more. However I also think of the positives that came out of it for example I’m more knowledgeable about how to help others and mental health.Currently I am fit again doing rowing, meeting up with people, and not taking anything for granted! Having to worry about calories and what food contains Is a huge waist of time and energy, something I’d never think past me would say But it’s true! Im still fighting everyday however I’m so happy with how far I have come and I couldn’t have done it without my friends family and support team I have.
I am forever greatful!!
By raising money for this charity I would be helping others in their journey and to get them the help they deserve, sooner rather than later.
Me and my friend are going to do a 25km walk in hope to raise money and awareness for multiple different charity’s and hopefully make someone smile.
Thankyou for taking the time to read my post, it means a lot. Abi xx
