Story

Thankyou for visiting my page.

Over the years I have supported many charitable causes in many ways but my latest is probably my most personal.

24hr table tennis marathon celebrating Alan Bickle being held at Hope Vineyard Church, Sunderland from 4pm Fri 10th June until 4pm Sat 11th June 2022.

Alan passed away with pancreatic cancer after being cared for by his family and the hospice.  He was the most caring, humble, unselfish individual who did everything for others (especially in Silksworth).  From running school assemblies, ministering on weddings and funerals initially with no recompense, running youth groups and general youth work, chaplain for local British Legion and so the list goes on.  You would remember him if you met him.for his steadfast faith and his love for all.

He was also a keen sportsman who played table tennis until his health wouldn’t allow him, and still followed our team-mates on WhatsApp to the end and hence why the 24hr marathon is so fitting.

After giving so much of his life to everyone else, this marathon is a small part of what all of his friends in the Sunderland & District table tennis league can do for him.
