Brake, the road safety charity

We campaign for safer roads to support those affected by road death.

Charity Registration No. 1093244

Story

Every day 61 people are killed and seriously hurt on UK roads.

I was seriously injured during a road traffic collision when I was 15 years old and nearly lost my life. I shattered my femur into 20 pieces and lost bone on the road, which sent my body into shock. I have had multiple surgeries to correct my leg included bone grafting from my hip. I'm still not completely healed, however I'm so grateful to be alive.

You can read more about my story here.

The accident didn't just affect me, it has affected my family and friends also. Brake is a fantastic support for people who have lost people on the roads or seriously injured.

I was one of the lucky ones, many others unfortunately lose their lives every day due to road accidents. II feel it's important for me to appreciate the life I have and make the most of it, for the people who were less fortunate.

Please donate and support me in running the British 10k for brake. Your kind donations really do make a difference to peoples lives.

Your money will help:

Enable Brake to keep their helpline running - supporting bereaved and injured in road crashes.

Paying for schools to receive Brake resources, to help them teach life-saving road safety messages to their pupils.

Provide a free picture book to a young child who has been bereaved in a road crash, to help them cope with the terrible loss.

Enable Brake to co-ordinate road safety campaigns to help change  our laws and make safer roads.

Brake is a national charity working to prevent road death and injury and support those bereaved and injured in road crashes. There are 5 people die on our roads every day and hundreds more serious injured. Visit www.brake.org.uk to find out more about our life-saving work.
