Story

Greetings all!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 11th April 2010, Euan and I are taking part in the 2010 Paris Marathon in aid of Help for Heroes!

As most of you know, our link with the Armed Forces starts at home, extending to loved ones and friends all over the globe. My father, Major J.S Trench, served in the Royal Artillery for 36 years and was posted to Iraq and Afghanistan on numerous occasions. Euan's father is still serving and is, at present, based abroad.

Both Euan and I attended the Duke of York's Royal Military school (1997-2004) Founded in 1803 for children of servicemen, many 'Dukies' who went before us, our fellow peers and those after our years, have been wounded or lost their lives fighting for Queen and Country, in recent conflicts and not forgetting both World Wars. Myself and Euan (Senior Under Officer 2007/08) were also Officer Cadet's in the University of Southampton Officer Training Corps, during some/all of our University careers. We have many friends currently serving in a number of Her Majesty's Regiments and as I write this, some are preparing to deploy.

I am sure, whether or not you have connections with the Forces, you admire the work our Soldiers do and respect the risks they take. For these reasons and many more, we have chosen to support the worthy charity Help for Heroes. We welcome your donations with the utmost gratitude.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We thank you for your kind support. Wish us lots of luck!

Abigail and Euan.
