Story
I’m taking on the National Autistic Society’s 100 Miles for October challenge to raise money for a cause that’s very close to our family’s hearts.
My eldest son is profoundly autistic, non-verbal and has learning disabilities, so autism is a big part of our everyday lives. We know first-hand how important the right support, understanding and opportunities are for autistic people and their families.
And for those who know me, you’ll know that 100 miles of walking is probably not something you’d expect me to volunteer for😂 I’m not exactly known for enjoying a long walk, so this will definitely be a challenge!
But it’s a challenge I’m happy to take on if it means raising money and supporting a cause that means so much to us.
The National Autistic Society supports the 700,000 autistic people in the UK and their families through specialist schools, campaigning for better rights and services, and helping organisations become more autism friendly. Their work is transforming lives and changing attitudes every day.
Any donations, big or small, would mean so much— and hopefully keep me motivated when I’m questioning why I signed up in the first place! 🤣 It will also support the National Autistic Society's work to create a society that works for all autistic people and their families. Thank you for your support 🌈
