Story
Hello and thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!
I am excited to share that I am going to be taking on a huge personal challenge over the next few months to spread awareness and raise money for a charity very close to my heart.
I have agreed to fight (yes... physically fight!) in a white collar boxing match on Saturday 28th April despite having absolutely no boxing experience whatsoever.
Many of my friends and family will know that I live an active lifestyle and enjoy keeping fit although the past couple of years have had their challenges which has resulted in gaining weight and finding it hard to get back into exercise. Since agreeing to take on this challenge, I have been to an introductory boxing class and have tried to do as much research as possible and it is clear that this is going to be tough (both mentally and physically!)
Despite the challenging task ahead, and without even thinking about how nervous I am going to feel on the night (I forgot to mention that there will be around 600 people in the audience) I feel excited and determined to put in months of hard work, sacrifice and dedication, knowing that I am doing this for Myton.
Myton Hospice cares for people living with a terminal or life shortening illness, aged 18 years and over within the Coventry and Warwickshire area. Myton work on enhancing life and empowering their patients whilst understanding how precious every moment is when living with, or supporting a loved one who is living with an illness that cannot be cured. I have first hand experience of the amazing work that takes place at Myton because two of my relatives passed away at Myton.
None of the services that are provided by Myton would be possible without raising over £8million each year. This is where I need your help! I am so grateful that you have taken the time to read my page alone but it would mean so much if you could make a kind donation, no matter how big or small! Please give what you can to help spur (or should I say 'spar') me on with my training but more importantly, to benefit the patients and families at Myton Hospice.
Thank you.
Abigail x
