Please help me to rewrite the ending to Leahs story x

Nottingham Ultra Ballroom 2nd April 2023 · 2 April 2023 to 2 May 2023 ·
Thank you for reading my story.
I’m Abi, a mother to two boys and a cancer survivor.
I’m learning to dance the Jive, through Ultra Ballroom events over the next 8 weeks to raise money for Cancer Research UK 👯♀️
For your amusement I promise to chart my training journey, The highs & lows along with photographic evidence of my attempts to learn something new! Along with my dance partner Molly, we will then compete against other couples in the grand finale on Sun April 2nd @ Pride Park, Derby.
My inspiration for doing this is very close to home. When I was 24 years old I was diagnosed with lung cancer, which resulted in the removal of most of my left lung.
Although young, fit and a non smoker ( I didn’t fit any of the standard criteria), Cancer, I quickly discovered had no age, limit or rules.
The recovery was tough, the large scar on my back is a daily reminder of how lucky I was…but it’s not just luck. It’s the skills, expertise and early diagnosis which tipped the balance my way.
My life was saved but other stories such as my beautiful friend Leah, ended so differently 🥲🥰
Leah and I met at work, we instantly clicked. Leah was so classy, quick witted and loved a cocktail or 2!! To our excitement we even fell pregnant at the same time, however a few months into her pregnancy aged 34, she discovered a lump which turned out to be stage 4 breast cancer.
She was so brave . She battled so hard, but lost her fight when her little boy was just 18mths old. Nearly 5 years on I still think about her all the time. I struggle to accept how different our stories ended.
PLEASE help me reach my target, donate to Cancer Research UK and help change the ending.
Thank you in advance
Abi xx
