My 100k steps in 1 day · 18 May 2018

We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

Hi everyone,

I have set myself a fitness goal to complete 100,000 steps in just one day!!!! I'm not sure I'm prepared for this or how hard this really is going to be but I'm going to train hard and try my best to do this!!!

I'll be using my fitbit to count my steps and will be vlogging throughout the day to keep everybody updated, I'll be taking photos of my fitbit showing my progress and sharing my day with you all.

I've read up about other people completing this challenge and it's took them on average 15-16 hour of constant walking/running/jogging. It's going to be roughly 45-50 miles so it's going to very hard lol.

I've chosen to donate money to MIND, mind is a fantastic charity that helps people who have mental health problems. I want to raise awareness of mental health problems and how important it is to help people who have mental health problems. Mental health is very close to my heart, I've got my own personal experience of mental health and its not something that goes away or something that any of us want to talk about. Suicide in men still remains the biggest killer in the UK, that is a crazy number. We don't like to talk about mental health but I want us all to try and to start seeing this silence illness as what it is.. An illness.

If you can donate to this wonderful chairty and sponsor me on my crazy stepping adventure I'd be so very grateful, Ive set a target of £200 to help Mind but if you can't give anything then that is also fine just please promise to smile. Smile at anybody and everybody you see, if you're walking down the street and see someone just give them a little smile. It's crazy how much a smile can help someone, try and make somebodies day a little brighter. Be positive and supportive towards people, help people If you can and just be fabulous.

If you are one of us that have this horrible silence illness, whether that is depression, anxiety, an eating disorder, panic attacks, bipolar or all of them or you know someone who does then I'm doing this stepping challenge for YOU!! Remember you're amazing, you're strong and don't let this illness win, you will WIN!!! Together we will beat this and we will kick mental health problems up the butt. Everyday is a struggle for some people but everyday is also a new start, a fresh start and a new beginning. If you woke up this morning, breathe, smile and relax. You're here and you're living and you're AMAZING.

Here's to mental health warriors, be proud of your silence illness, embrace it, be proud of the pills you take or the therapy you have. You're getting support, you're strong because you've asked for help. Be you and be real, don't be embarrassed and ashamed and most importantly don't let the illness define who you are. It's okay not to be okay.

Thank you to each and every one of you for reading.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and reading my very long post. I'm so excited to take part in my very first fundraising event. I am a little worried about it because its a very big challenge but I promise I will put everything I have into it and I will try my best.

Thank you for any donations and thank you to everyone for supporting me. Happy stepping everyone. Wooopie!!!!
