Story

“Though life is hard I come from a history of greatness, so I will be great”

– Abram Wilson (1973-2012)

In his short life Abram taught thousands of people, from young children to grown adults, to experience music with their hearts through his warmth of spirit, sincerity and positivity.  He was a hugely talented performer and brought joy to many lives through his music and his ability to communicate and celebrate life through his love for jazz.

Before Abram died, he said that he still had so much he wanted to do. With this in mind, his wife Jennie Cashman Wilson has established the Abram Wilson Foundation for Creative Arts. It is her gift to Abram; a celebration of everything they achieved together and a symbol of Abram's passion for music and storytelling, his belief that he could change the world and his resilient and eternally optimistic spirit.

To kick start the Foundation we have booked a 10 date UK tour for autumn 2013 with some of Abram's former band members.  We also plan to complete one of Abram’s final projects, the Philippa Project.  Both will serve as a tribute and lasting memory to the life of an artist whose music and joy had such a profound impact on all those with whom he came into throughout his career.

Between June – August 2012, we successfully fundraised a total of £14,0000 using the online fundraising platform Kickstarter and donations from Abram’s memorial service.  This is only the beginning and we require significantly more to fully bring to life the Philippa Project and properly establish the Foundation.
