It's my birthday folks and I wanted to do something different!

I'm raising funds for the amazing charity Cancer Research. Cancer affects so many lives and this charity has helped me and my family at an incredibly tough time when my father was going through it. They have helped and supported so many people and their families that it's right to show them the appreciation, love and support by helping them too

I'm a strong believer of giving and helping when possible. My mother and father instilled in me at a young age that the best gift you can give to anyone is the gift of helping and being there when they need you. With that mentality I've approached the idea of gift giving on my birthday with rather than expecting gifts, to give something to those who need help instead.

The charity doesn't receive any government funding, so it's down to us to help them keep going and help others who are also affected by cancer. Something as small as a £5 can give the charity the essentials it needs for research - getting us that step closer to beating this horrid disease.

I lost my old man to cancer back in 2013, and the whole process was so difficult to deal with. You feel helpless, lonely and completely confused as to what you can and can't do. Cancer Research's aim is to combat cancer, but they also help those who have been affected by cancer, providing support and information whenever you need it - if you have been unlucky enough to need Cancer Research's support, then you know how wonderful and necessary they really are.

I'm 25 today and the aim is to raise £2,500 (because £100 x 25 = £2,500. Math). I've started the ball rolling, so help me push it!
