Story
Back in February, as part of the #BeMoreJack campaign in memory of one of the cancer community's finest, I pledged to raise £3400 for Trekstock by the end of the year. Sadly, thanks to covid, a lot of fundraising plans were put on hold, or even cancelled.
To frankly put it, we have lost too many young lives this year to cancer. I'm determined to reach my original target and help provide essential support to young people that desperately need it.
After the success of the recent 34-day virtual challenge (or 68 days in my case) where I raised £750, I'm back to take part in Trekstock's next challenge. As part of the Trek for Trekstock challenge, I've chosen to walk the North Yorkshire Coastline from Whitby to Scarborough which is 20.8 miles (33.5km) in total.
I've set myself a BIG fundraising target but with only a few months to go until the end of the year, I hope you can support me in this challenge.
Thanks to the amazing support of Trekstock, I was able to get through one of the toughest times in my life. They have continued to support me through my recovery and I consider myself a part of the Trekstock family. I know how scary and isolating cancer can be, so I'd love to help other young people in my situation and help Trekstock continue to keep their vital services running.
34 young adults are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. Trekstock gets them moving physically and socially, through and beyond cancer. During current times, that statistic has not changed. The demand for Trekstock's services has only increased and your donation will ensure young adults are supported during this crisis. Trekstock is determined to be there for our community during this crisis - but they can't do it without your support. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has changed life for everyone, but young adults living through and beyond cancer are among the hardest hit. Most are at increased risk and have spent months self-isolating, they're anxious about their treatment plans and feeling more alone than ever. That's why Trekstock's services are more vital than ever.
