Story

Hi there,

First of all, we’d like to thank you for taking the time to visit our page and donate - It really means a lot to us.

In the early hours of Saturday 11th September, 11 brave souls from BAE Systems and The Aircraft Carrier Alliance will undertake The Artemis Highland 100. The Artemis Highland 100 is a stunning, and gruelling, cycle route encompassing some of the most spectacular and historic areas of the Scottish Highlands. Starting at Kenmore on the tip of Loch Tay, threading through the stunning and remote Glen Lyon and finishing at Killin, the route will see the riders cover 61 miles on minor roads and 21 miles of challenging off-road sections. More info on the route and the event itself can be found at http://www.artemishighland100.com/

The purpose of the challenge is to raise money for two noble and worth while charities: CHAS & Cancer Research . Your donations are vital in allowing them to continue the amazing work they do. We would extremely grateful if you can pledge whatever you can afford.

The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is a Scottish charity established to provide hospital services in for children with life-limiting conditions. CHAS offers professional care, practical help and emotional support to the whole family usually from the day they are referred until the death of their child and beyond. Rachel House, ’s first children’s hospice, opened in Kinross in July 1996. Robin House in Balloch opened in August 2005. Both hospices are purpose-built and each provides ongoing support for up to 200 families across each year. The CHAS at Home Team helps children and families in the by providing support to them in their own homes. The Team also provide homecare support to families across when they need it. CHAS is also the official Charity partner of the Aircraft Carrier Alliance.

Cancer Research is the world’s leading charity dedicated to cancer research. They carry out scientific research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. They have discovered new ways of beating cancer that together have saved hundreds of thousands of lives across the world. They provide life-changing information to patients, their families and friends, and run cancer awareness campaigns to help people reduce their risk of the disease. Their campaigning and lobbying helps keep cancer at the top of the political agenda. One in three of us will be affected cancer at some point in our lives and the ground breaking work of Cancer Research , funded almost entirely by the general public, will ensure that millions more people survive.
