Story
We are Acre Properties and after 2017’s triumphant and successful Half Tough Mudder, we have this year decided to challenge ourselves further and take on the full course of Tough Mudder - a 10–12 mile-long (16–19 km) obstacle course that tests mental as well as physical strength.
Our fundraising this year will be for The Brain Tumour Charity inspired by our 29 year old friend and colleague Ben Turner.
In Dec 2012 Ben was diagnosed with a grade 3 Astrocytoma tumour where he was thrown into undergoing open brain surgery to have the majority of it removed, this left him without left peripheral vision due to the position of the mass. This was followed by six weeks of intense chemo radiotherapy and the brain tumour was then stable until April 2017.
Sadly there was tumour growth in 2017 which meant he had to undergo more brain surgery and because of numerous complications, he had to go through 7 brain surgeries in a very short space of time. He is currently in the process of another operation to cover the exposed part of his skull, he is determined to live life, continuing to work and get out to see his family and friends.
Ben has been fundraising for the charity for the past 6 years and with the help of amazing people he has managed to raise tens of thousands of pounds. He has recently set up Ben’s Brain Battle fund which is linked with The Brain Tumour Charity.
Through Ben’s own traumas and the courageous people he has seen suffer throughout his journey we have all realised how vital fundraising for this tragic disease is.
If you wish to watch part of Ben’s recent journey on BBC’s ‘Hospital’ documentary please copy and paste this link where the episode will begin after a couple of seconds of coloured lines -

The government spend on brain tumour research last year represented just 0.52% of its total spend on cancer research. This cancer is the biggest killer of the under 40 age group. More funding is needed to help research this most aggressive form of cancer that is killing so many people.
We would really appreciate your kindness and support if you are able to donate whatever you can towards our challenge and cause.
As a thank you we will be happy to send you footage of us in action and of course head to toe in mud!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Team Acre xx
