Christmas Appeal 2010 · 25 December 2010 ·

Our mission is improve the lives of all people affected by ME. Working towards a future where everyone with ME receives the understanding, equity and care they deserve. We provide practical support and healthcare services, as well as funding breakthrough research and campaigning for change.

Story

Action for M.E. is raising funds to set up the UK's first biobank for research into the illness.

A biobank would allow the systematic collection, storage and examination of blood and other tissues from people living with M.E.

A feasibility study has already been completed by researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Once sufficient funds have been raised and the biobank has been established, people diagnosed with M.E. who are on (or who join) the M.E./CFS Research Observatory Disease Register, will be invited to donate blood samples.

It will support the kind of fundamental research necessary to establish the causes of the illness, develop more effective treatments and find a cure.

Please help us transform the world of M.E.

Project co-funded by the ME Association.
