Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page.

June 26th 2020 marks a decade since the death of Bdr Stephen Gilbert, my fiancées late husband.

Stephen was sadly injured in an IED attack whilst on patrol in Afghanistan in 2010 and never awoke from the blast that cruelly took his life.

My intention on the 10th anniversary of Stephen’s death will be to cycle a modified version of the Cleveland Way on my mountain bike non stop and unsupported.

The route is 168km (105 miles) with 3300m (10,000ft) of climbing and runs from Helmsley clockwise around the edge of the North Yorkshire moors to Filey on the east coast.

The route has had to be modified to miss out the many segments of which are footpath only and do not permit cycling.

All of the proceeds donated will go to Combat Stress in order to assist with the fantastic work they do in order help many veterans struggling with issues such as PTSD.

Once again, thank you.
