Story

Adam's National Three Peaks Challenge

On July 7th and 8th I will be aiming to walk up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours as part of the National Three Peaks Challenge. I think I might struggle, but your donations will hopefully give me the motivation I need to push on! I have chosen two charities that I think are worthy of donations, so please give generously.

Whilst it is true that I have been talked into this challenge by a good friend, I’m going to use this as an opportunity to remember my late father, Nick Bodger. The charities I have picked have no bearing on who my father was or what he believed in. However, if you knew my father, you’ll know he was a good man and if your donation means that you remember him for a moment, then that will be a further motivation to me for completing this challenge.

League Against Cruel Sports

The League Against Cruel Sports is an animal welfare charity that campaigns for ensuring animals do not suffer for the sake of sport. This is not a small problem - the number of animals involved in the UK is in the millions every year and their cruelty is completely unnecessary. If you would like an insight into what the charity is all about, the League Against Cruel Sports YouTube channel provides a powerful overview of the cruelty that takes place right across the UK.

Wrexham FC Disabled Supporters Association (DSA)

If you know me, you’ll know that I’m quite a keen Wrexham fan, so it’s only natural that I would want to do something for the club. Wrexham FC Disabled Supporters Association (DSA) is for all members of the football club's disabled community. Its primary purpose is to make the club a better place for disabled people. Wrexham FC DSA have raised thousands of pounds already to build three wheelchair viewing platforms and have been praised in the House of Lords as an example that Premier League clubs should follow. Wrexham FC DSA plans for the future include better signage, audio descriptive commentary and more viewing platforms, so any donations will be put to good use.

We stand on the side of animals and protect them from being harmed or killed in the name of ‘sport’. We manage sanctuaries to protect wildlife, carry out investigations to expose law-breaking and cruelty to animals, and campaign for stronger animal protection laws and penalties.
