Honeypot’s vision is for every child to make the most of their one chance at childhood. Since 1996 we have been working to enhance the lives of vulnerable children and young carers aged 5-12 years by providing residential respite breaks and on-going outreach support.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page.  Sadly in July this year my dad lost his battle with MS aged 62.  He had progressive MS which caused his body to deteriorate over the years and was in a care home for the last 24.  I was 9 years old when he finally was too unwell to be able to be cared for at home but my childhood was spent supporting his care until that point.

Back then, there were no organisations like The Honeypot which can bring child carers together, offer them the help and support they need, enable them to make friends with others who share similar experiences and provide fun places to get away.  No other person I knew had experienced being a child carer and the challenges that come with it.

But this isn't a sob story... it's a small window into something which can often go unseen by many but has such a major impact on young people. I'm running for the unsung heroes, I'm running to give some children the ability to know that things will get better, I'm running in honour of my dad who did the best he could with cards he was dealt.

Any donation, no matter how much, will help contribute towards helping child carers in more ways that you can imagine. Thank you so much for reading x
