Hi. This is the first time I've ever tried to raise money for a charity. The reason why I am, is because I have a real connection with the people who will hopefully benefit.
I run drum workshops at The SMILE Centre ,Outreach 3Way in Crawley and have done for a while. The guys who I work with have complex needs, communication/movement limitations and profound learning difficulties. I think I can say that life is tough for them and their families. They miss out on a lot of life's opportunities.
At SMILE the staff are fundraising for a recreational area that the guys with disabilities can access. Having an outside play area, is both therapeutic and physically beneficial for everyone especially people with disabilities. I know that this would really benefit everyone that accesses SMILE and would be a great asset to the charity.
I have decided to sacrifice myself physically and ride the South Downs Way over a couple of days to help raise some cash for the project. It's 100 miles off road and is hilly! I hope you don't mind me tapping you up for a few quid ,if you are kind enough to donate, then much appreciated...
I'm riding on the 15th and 16th September 2018.
Best wishes
Adam G
