Girls around the world experience shame and embarrassment when they start their period and struggle to access the support and information they need to be confident and comfortable during menstruation. 

In Uganda over half of girls are using improvised materials ranging from rags to corn husks and banana leaves to manage menstruation and missing school during their periods. 

In the UK 1 in 10 girls have been unable to afford pads and receive no preparation at all before their first period. 

I'm taking action to end period poverty for good. This weekend I will be climbing to the highest point in the peak district with the Irise team and every £5 I raise will enable another girl to stay happy and healthy during her period.
