2017 Cardiff Half Marathon · 1 October 2017 ·

Kidney Wales is the leading kidney charity in Wales. We are here to support patients and their families, promote excellence in kidney research, education, and treatment within Wales.

Story

In previous years, numerous friends and family have taken part in many runs, and organised several events to support the charity, after my diagnosis with renal failure in 2013.

As the picture shows, I have always been a keen supporter at these events, but now after receiving a kidney transplant in late 2014, I am ready to take part in a race and race funds directly!

Even though it is no Ultra-Marathon, Ironman or mountain climb, it has taken me some time to reach the fitness required to run this distance.

The money we will raise will go to support Kidney Wales, who help to support young people who are suffering with kidney problems, as well as funding innovative new research into cures for kidney disease.

Any amount you could donate would be absolutely fantastic, and we are extremely grateful for your support for us and for this great charity here in Wales.

A massive THANK YOU from both of us for your kindness and generosity!
