This year has been one of the toughest battles for our family and many others. My lovely Mother got told she had cancer in December 2015 and she needed surgery and treatment throughout 2016. Which has been tough but the strong person she is I am pleased to say she has got through it with help off family and friends.

Unfortunately on the other end of the spectrum and another main cause for me wanting to raise money and awareness of what and how important charities like Macmillan are:

On August 4th 2016 my first ever boss Brain Hunter sadly passed away due to suffering with cancer. This was the man who gave me an opportunity in life my first job after not enjoying school and not want to carry on with further education. He taught me how to stand on my own two feet and showed me what a days graft was. Looking back I have a lot to thank him and his family for. So I wanted to give back to a charity close to the families heart as well as mine.

Rest in Peace now Brian loved by many.

So on 16th October 2016 (my mum's birthday) I am going to run the Manchester Half Marathon. 

As many people who know me I have been running now since start of the year and also eating abit healthier to loose some weight to feel better and I have done well , but want to push myself to more and doing this sets me a goal to train for and achieve something I didn't think I would ever do. 

It is the first ever event I have ran in but won't be my last hopefully. Haha. So I have not yet set a time goal I'm sure I will the more running and training I do. I am just going to give it my best and maybe set goals for further events in the future.
