We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Well, I'll be passing the big 4-0 later this year so as many a slightly balding man approaching middle age before me I've decided to run a very long way before it's too late.

And it's also a chance for me to raise some money for a worthy cause and not just do this for the satisfaction, the sore knees and the blistered feet.

Update 26/05/10

The results are up, I'm in 284th...

Update 24/05/10

All done.  I finished in a time of 1 hour 37 minutes and 20 seconds.  Nipples were fine, blisters mostly okay, left knee absolutely knackered.  Thanks to everybody who sponsored me, I raised far more than I ever imagined I would.  I really appreciate the support.

Update 12/05/10

Just over a week to go and I may just have survived the onset of iliotibial band injury (google-diagnosed) by buying myself a new pair of bouncy shoes.  Bloody sore knee and problems walking down the stairs goodbye (hopefully) - hello multiple blistering!

On a much more positive note Jed has gifted me the skull and crossbones wristband he got in his comic for luck.  Which I will need.  The NSPCC have also sent me a natty green vest for the event which sadly I doubt I'll be able to wear as it gives my nipples gyp something rotten.  I've already used a whole wee tub of vaseline greasing them up before each run and I'm afraid I daren't risk any recurrence.

Many thanks to everyone who has sponsored me to date, I have already raised more than I had hoped.  Now, however, I'm getting greedy and would like anybody yet to dip their pockets to do so now if they don't mind.  Ta!
