After finishing the London Marathon back in 2016, I vowed I'd never do any of these silly running events again..... but here I am!!! In a moment of madness I am bound to regret over these next few months I have signed up to run the Great Birmingham Run - Half Marathon

Why am I doing this? I ask myself this every time I have signed up to raise money for charity and to me its very simple.

I feel I should be giving back, to both the NHS as a whole and also to ROH

To cut a long story short, I have had cancer (twice) and also had my right hip resurfaced - the same op Andy Murray has just made all cool and hip (boom boom).

Basically I owe the NHS a lot! It's saved me twice. I also owe ROH a lot! Not only did ROH (and more specifically the former Medical Director Mr Pearson) give me a new lease of life, I am also lucky enough to work for the Trust. So I have personally experienced, and also get to see on a daily basis, the amazing job all of the staff do for our patients.

So, I feel the least I can do is try to raise some money for a hospital that means a lot to me.
