London Bikeathon 2011 · 26 June 2011 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page.

Please support my efforts to raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma Research. I recently took part in the Challenge Bikeathon - a 26 mile bike from Battersea Power Station to Ham House, then back across London and out to the Thames Barrier, and then back to Battersea Power Station - on Sunday June 26 to raise money and awareness for cancer research and treatment.

My older brother Benjamin, 29, has just finished his last round of 12 chemotherapy sessions that cured him of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer than hits people in their twenties that has no known genetic or environmental causes. Benjamin has a brilliant doctor and team in New York who have cared for him since January 2011 with dedication, passion and compassion while using the most refined and targeted chemotherapy available. Ben will return to his full-bodied health this fall and his energy will bounce back with alacrity.

I relocated to New York in January and have been with him during some of the most challenging moments, like when he had his initial biopsy and was diagnosed, to some of the most joyous, like when we got the test results that his chemotherapy was working as hoped and the cancer was disappearing. We shared wonderful, celebratory times together in the last six months - a highlight was our joint BBQ birthday garden party in May at our family home in Larchmont, NY, a photo of which adorns this page.

Treatments have improved dramatically in recent years, and they can improve further with your help. Many, many individuals and their families have been touched by Lymphoma - perhaps including your own.

This is an opportunity for you to help.  Please do give as little or as much as you like. Your anonymous or public decision to donate will help eradicate this scourge.

With gratitude and love,

Adam
