#GLOVESFORGRAN: Adam's Fight For Gran Against Cancer

London Ultra White Collar Boxing 14th March 2020 · 14 March 2020 to 14 April 2020 ·
In Memory Of Susan Jeffels 1946 - 2019
My Gran was a wonderful soul who loved and cared deeply about her family and friends. She was such an inspiration to me, starting out from her working-class roots in Lambeth to become an author, a Dr. with a Ph.D. in domestic violence and theology, and above all the rock of the family.
She took me into her home in my late teens when nobody else would. Our family lost my Gran to Cancer in a very sudden and tragic way. I want to do something in the memory of my Gran who gave us the love and support we needed and do my bit to help fight the fight against cancer.
She will be so deeply missed.
I have never taken part in any combat sports events before and so I will need to train hard to make my Gran proud (and winning in her honor would be a huge bonus!)
On the 14/03/2020 I will be fighting 3x 2-minute rounds at a UWBC (Ultra White Collar Boxing) Event. This will require me to take part in 8 weeks of training and Event Tickets will be available to buy for those that want to come and see me get punched in the head (which I assume is a lot of you!).
Cancer doesn't care who you are, what you look like or who it takes but if you donate today you can help fund research that is vital in beating cancer for good.
"Cancer Research UK is the only charity researching over 200 types of cancer, and the amazing support from people like you is helping our scientists to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and cure cancer. Cancer survival rates have doubled in the past 40 years but there is still so much more to do."
"D'you wanna cup of tea love?" - Susan Jeffels
Yes Gran, pop the kettle on for me up there.
