Story
During my teens, I suffered with anorexia for a number of years. Eating disorders, particularly anorexia, have the highest mortality rate in the UK out of all mental health issues. During the pandemic, statistics show more and more people have become ill or sadly relapsed and NHS waiting lists have grown alarmingly. The mental and physical harms of eating disorders on the individual and their families are massive. I’m sure without access to such services as S.E.E.D and Breathe, I may have not been here today. With the help of everyone at S.E.E.D. and Breathe therapies, my family and I overcame a very difficult time. Going through such a traumatic time made me realise that I wouldn’t want anybody else to feel this way. That is why I want to give back and why I’m asking people to donate to S.E.E.D. so that others who are in the same position as I was have access to the support I did. S.E.E.D. is a Lancashire based charity that provides support for those suffering with eating disorders and their families. Making the difficulties of having an eating disorder more manageable and ultimately paving the way to recovery. I understand how hard financially the last year has been which is why i’m asking for people to please give as much or as little as you can, or even just to share the page if possible.
