London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·

ELHT&Me's mission is to make a real and lasting difference to healthcare across our hospitals by introducing specialist equipment and investing in new technology, creating welcoming areas to be shared with everyone and providing those extras that make time in hospital more comfortable for all.

Story

On the 28th April 2019 I plan to run the London Marathon in aid of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Burnley General Teaching Hospital of East Lancashire NHS Trust.

I am a Diagnostic Radiographer at this hospital trust and regularly aid the NICU department by performing crucial x-rays in order to aid the diagnosis and treatment of newborn babies.

In order to make this more of a challenge and receive as many donations as possible, I plan to run the London marathon wearing the Lead protection suits we regularly use in Radiology. The lead coat has been specially made by a company called ‘Rothband - www.rothband.com’, who have kindly donated the lead in aid of this charity.

ELHT&me exists to improve the patient experience across East Lancashire. Your support and donations make a huge difference for patients; improving the hospital environment, buying state-of-the-art medical equipment, funding and research teaching and helping us to go way beyond the NHS standards.

Please help us raise as much as possible and reach our target in order to help us provide the highest quality care to the babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Burnley General Teaching Hospital.
