Story

Hello Everybody, and thanks for visiting my fund-raising page!

So why am I running the London Marathon?

I have had diabetes since I was 10 years old (just over 13 years), and throughout this time Diabetes UK has given me great support and guidance. Through giving me this, Diabetes UK has enabled me to lead a normal life; with help and advice on areas such as diet and advice with problems which were completely new to both me and my family. I feel that this is my opportunity to finally give something back and show just how grateful I am for all they have done.

Diabetes UK plays a vital role in making people who have Diabetes, like myself, a whole lot easier to live with. The funds I raise by running the London Marathon will be helping Diabetes UK with things such as research into better treatments and eventual cures, and also events for newly diagnosed children and their families.

In addition to raising funds for Diabetes UK, running the Marathon as a Diabetic is going to be a great challenge and personal achievement for myself. I would like to lead as an example to anybody who has been diagnosed with the condition that anything is possible, and I don't think there is a better way of doing so than winning the 2010 London Marathon...!!

Thank you all for your support, and I shall see you at the finish line!!
