Hastings Half Marathon 2013 · 24 March 2013 ·

St Michael’s Hospice is heavily dependent on the generosity of local individuals, companies, groups and trusts. Did you know it costs around £8.7 million per year to provide our Hospice services? Please support our vital work.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, Adam and I have chosen to run the Hastings Half Marathon in aid of St. Michaels Hospice.

As some of you know, Kims uncle Andy was recently taken by cancer and spent his last weeks at the Hospice where he was cared for and made to feel every bit normal as anyone else.

Our family were moved by the time, dedication and support provided by the Hospice and it's staff and volunteers, and want to support the Hospice in providing this valuable service to others, every penny will help the hospice.

The Hospice provides pain relief and symptom control for adults with life limiting illnesses such as cancer, heart failure, chronic respiratory diseases, neurological conditions and AIDS. They provide care, not only within the Hospice, but also in the community. Many of the patients are cared for at home with skilled nursing support or night sitting services and they also have a Day Therapy Centre which offers respite, good company and support.

The running costs of the Hospice are mainly met by donations and fundraising, so please dig deep to support a worthy charity.

Thanks,

Kim and Adam
