Story
Last weekend I ran a half marathon around London. I did it in 1hr 57 mins and 19 secs which is great as all I really wanted to do was finish under 2hrs, and raise a few quid for the local running club I joined about a year ago, Kent AC.
Its a great little club, lets me run around a proper track twice a week, and rub shoulders with actual GB athletes all for a minimal fee each year.
But, like many sports clubs, it needs a bit of financial help with running the facilities, coaching, getting Just Giving pages set up before actual events etc...so please spare a few quid!
Thanks for reading and donating!
Some more about Kent AC: We're raising funds for our running club, Kent AC based in Catford, one of the top 10 clubs in the UK.....on your door step! We place well on the national and international stage and have our fair share of athletes representing the UK in the European, Commonwealth and Olympic games. As an athletics club we're great at running but fall short on the facilities available to develop the other disciplines. We're heading an initiative to develop a youth coaching programme building on our existing coaching team to cover all disciplines for the Lewisham community but we need the funds to invest in the right resources including properly trained and qualified coaches and equipment. We're also very keen to be in a position to support young athletes who might otherwise find difficulty to afford to participate in the sport. This is still early stages as we grow from what was once a small private club to what has become a large community based hub with over 300 members and still growing. The Big Half is providing us with a huge opportunity to develop the right structure to enable us to move forward with equal emphasis throughout the UKA athletics programme but won't happen without your help.
