Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.

Story

After running the Great Scottish Run in 2014, in memory of Jenny, I didn't even put on running shoes for 2 years...! I thought if I was to raise money for MRF again, I'd have to take it a step further, this time by running the full marathon.

In March 2014 we lost a great friend Jenny Singh who passed away due to acute bacterial meningitis. Jenny was one of the happiest, smiliest and most caring people who brought joy to everyone she met. Meningitis Research Foundation do an incredible job in fighting this disease, and I'm running this race to raise money for their important cause. I hope that every step of the 26.21 miles I'll run will be one step closer to a world free of meningitis and septicaemia.

Thank you so much for taking your time to read this, and if you can spare anything as a donation, thank you for that as well! I understand that this time of year money can be tight, so thank you to everyone else for the support, smiles, and friendship while I train for this race!
