Redbrik Chesterfield 10k 2022 · 16 October 2022 ·

We support those affected by HIE (hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy), which is a lack of oxygen to the brain that can cause injury. We offer practical, financial and emotional support, at any stage of the HIE journey, and want to ensure that no-one feels they are on their own.

Story

On 16th October, friends Mike, Alex, Joe, Jamie, Danny, brothers Alastair and Ada’s uncle Will along with Will’s partner Laura, and Ada’s uncle Ben, will be running the Chesterfield 10k to raise money for the charity ‘Peeps, HIE Awareness’.

Alastair’s Daughter, Ada was born in November 2021 with a brain injury following a traumatic birth, and will have life long difficulties. Ada suffers with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and sight problems. Despite all that, she is a strong, stubborn and special little girl, with a fighting spirit! 🥰

Peeps is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting those with HIE. HIE stands for Hypoxic Ischaemic Encephalopathy, a lack of oxygen to the brain that can cause injury.

Peeps helps those families in the early days and onwards to access support, counselling and funding.

Please help us raise as much as we can, so that other families who are struggling with the effects of HIE can continue being offered the support they deserve 😁
