Thank you for taking the time to visit Ascensia Diabetes Care's JustGiving page. Over the weekend 14th/15th July, employees of Ascensia Diabetes Care UK will be completing the Dixons Carphone' Race to the Stones', a 100km walk across the Ridgeway.

Ascensia is a specialist Diabetes company that is dedicated to helping people better manage their condition. As such, we wanted to fundraise for people with diabetes and in a way that was meaningful. That is why we have selected Diabetes UK and are tackling the Dixons Carphone 'Race to the Stones'.

The Dixons Carphone 'Race to the Stones' is an endurance challenge along the oldest path in the UK. We have selected this event, as it symbolizes the long-term challenges faced by people with diabetes and how they have to overcome difficulties throughout their care. Diabetes is a long-term condition and is not easy to manage, so we wanted to push ourselves and do something that was challenging.

By completing this challenge, we will be raising money for Diabetes UK, to help them in their mission to bring people together to support those living with diabetes, prevent Type 2 diabetes, make research breakthroughs and, ultimately, find a cure. Currently, there are 4.6 million people in the UK living with diabetes, and around 12.3 million more at increased risk of getting Type 2 diabetes.
