Story

(Cost of trip was self funded) Just returned from my 150k Great Wall Of China Trek! I've had an awesome adventure, met some lovely people and had a very tough challenge.
Thank-you very much to everyone who has donated to my fundraiser.
I was one of 80 people who completed the trek and between us we have raised over £240,000 for cancer charities!
This Charity is close to my heart as my son was diagnosed with Leukaemia when he was just 4 years old, he had 3 years of treatment at Birmingham Children's Hospital on ward 15 and they saved his life.
He is now in remission, fit and well.
I have been organising different fund raising events over the last 15 years, all for Cancer charities and hope that this event will raise much needed funds for the Cancer Centre Appeal.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
