Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Safety Net is a
Cumbrian Charity who provides support for victims of recent & non-recent
childhood sexual abuse throughout North & West Cumbria. Their work is invaluable;
they provide counselling, therapy and support for those suffering the long
lasting effects of abuse.

The journey
through abuse to recovery is painful, I know this because I have walked that
path & been on that journey for 36 years, I know the value of what Safety
Net do for the broken. My journey towards recovery is still ongoing but I am
nearer recovery than I ever thought possible & without the professional
support that is available, that wouldn’t have been possible.

I am trekking Ben
Nevis to raise money to raise funds for Safety Net, to enable them to continue
the life saving work they do. I will be doing this donned in fire kit carrying
breathing apparatus and essential kit for the conditions. I thought I would make
things a bit more challenging.

I am doing this
challenge alongside my good friend Ian Watson, who is also supporting Safety
Net. Please support us.
