So a group of 7 friend are jumping 10,000 feet for the special charity that is Teenage Cancer Trust and hoping to raise about £500 each totally £3500
Here is a little story from one of the group, who has experience the teenage cancer trust's great work.
Lucie - At 15 I was diagnosed with a Ewings sarcoma which is a type of bone cancer. I had a years in intense chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery which they removed the bone blasted it with high dose radiotherapy then screwed it all back together with 3 metal plates and around 20 screws.
When I was being treated on the teenage cancer trust unit, it was like a home from home, although the chemotherapy was grueling and sometimes frightening, I felt safe and more importantly not alone! I got the chance to be treated next to people my own age and laugh about how quick I could get ready now I didn't have to do my hair.
So the team will be taking off from a Lancaster airfield and will climb 10,000ft before coming back down again – they will free-falling the first 5,000ft, travelling at over 120mph! Then once the parachute opens, take in the view as you drift gently back down to earth.
Easy right?!? hmmm
Please give what you can big or small, £1 goes a long way when 1000 people give it :)
So please share this page with friends and family thank you.
