Strictly Learn to Dance 2020 · 2 April 2022 to 8 April 2022 ·

Our consultant-led team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home.

Story

My Mum was lovely.  She was my best friend, my daughters' Grandma and the mainstay in our family. In 2020 it will be 10 years since we lost her to a most terrible cancer, she was poorly for such a long time which seemed like most of my young girls' lives. During this time the hospice provided a most tremendous service to her and us both as an inpatient then to carry on her care at home for a further 6 weeks with the marvellous Hospice at Home team.

Four very short years later we received the terrible news that Gary's mum had stage 4 ovarian cancer.  This was an absolute blow to us as a family.  Once again the services of Bolton hospice were called upon and most gratefully received.  Hazel stayed in the hospice until she passed away.

The fact now that my 2 young daughters had no Grandmas present in their lives absolutely devastated me.  I had my own Grandma until I was in my late 30's and we got along famously so for my girls to miss out just was not fair.  As parents we both try incredibly hard to be everything our girls have needed, but Grandmas - believe us - you are sorely missed and we love you.

So, my lovely friends and family please dig deep and help this amazing place we call BOLTON HOSPICE.  Let the dancing begin and I really hope you will join in with our fundraising events and come and watch us strut our stuff on 28th March 2020.

With much love - Adele & Gary xxxx
