Story

Today, 2nd June 2017, I found out that I have secured my place for the London Marathon 2018! I have never run this sort of distance before so it is definitely going to be a challenge for me to say the least.

Anyone who knows me personally, knows that my mum was my best friend and my everything.  When my mum got diagnosed with the terrible 'c' word it was one of the worst days of my life, living through the awful disease with her was just terrible for my mum and also all of our family and friends. With the close support of those family and friends we were able to keep my mum at home until the end. But having visited Loros and its surroundings i know my mum would have also found peace there had we taken advantage of this offering to us.

Loros provides support and care to people and their families that face greater challenges than the London Marathon, challanges I have already had to face. If my support to Loros helps others through their darkest days then that is an achievement I will be proud of!

I want to do this challenge in memory of my mum, (even though she would think I was mad) but while I am doing so, I am also doing it in memory of my dad and my 'other' mum Elaine, to lose 3 of the closest people in my life in a space of 18 months proves you can get through most things. They are in my thoughts always and will be my motivation through months of training and every one of those 26 miles.

I ask that you will sponsor me as much or as little as you can (I and Loros will be thankful for every penny)! I want to repay the faith and show Loros how much all of this means to me. I am well aware they have a limited number of spaces available and am thankful to them for giving me this opportunity to fulfil an ambition while raising what I hope to be a significant amount of money for them.
