Dramathon and Illuminator · 2 October 2018

Search and rescue dogs are trained to support Mountain Rescue Teams in their search for missing people and aiding Police in searching for vulnerable missing people. The handlers are all volunteers and charitable donations support training and equipping the dogs and their handlers.

Story

Those of you who have followed AD Heating's Illuminator 'journey' will know that 2018 will be third time that Athol and Helen will be running the 15+ miles trail route in the dark!! http://www.illuminatorrun.co.uk/

But this year, not content with just the Illuminator, they have decided to run the Dramathon the week before!! http://www.thedramathon.com/

So Bones & Boris the biomass dogs have been making sure that the necessary training is getting done so that the 26mile Speyside route on 20th October, followed by the 15+mile Glen Tanar route on 27th October all goes to plan!

They might have also managed to convince Fiona, AD Heating's lovely "Office Administrator" that she needs to join in for the Illuminator!!

This year our nominated charity is the Search and Rescue Dog Association Scotland.  It is a volunteer organisation using specially trained pet dogs to help locate missing persons.  Bones & Boris would both like to be mountain rescue dogs 'when they grow up', but are currently too busy on meet and greet duties at AD Heating - so in the meantime, we'd like to give these volunteers a bit of support if we can - on average it takes 2 years to train a dog and handler at a cost of around £5000!!
