Story
Our dear colleague Simon suddenly and tragically passed away on Wed 24th of January 2018 after a brief battle with Meningitis at the age of 50. Simon was a huge part of our Admiral Taverns family, a great friend, role model, mentor and father figure. Simon joined Admiral in 2005 and built many close relationships across our industry over the years. He had a great passion for his family, community pubs, Salford, music, sports and fitness. A keen fundraiser himself, Simon loved a challenge and we want to raise money in a variety of ways with "Race to the Tower" as our main challenge.
Our fundraising activities will culminate in the 2nd week of June when we will be entering teams into the Heineken sponsored "Race to the Tower" part of the Threshold Trail series which will be held in the Cotswolds on the 9th and 10th of June. This will be followed by the annual Admiral Golf Day which this year will be held in memory of Simon - a little ironic and humorous given that Simon was of the view that "golf is a good walk spoiled"! We hope that these two events, along with other fundraising activities, that we will raise a very significant amount for Meningitis Now in memory of our dear colleague and friend.
