Children and young people can be really motivated to join-in by using IT. AACT investigates ways that IT, especially mobile stuff like phones, video cameras and iPads, can help people of all ages who have a communications disability communicate with everyone.

Story

Thanks for stopping by my London 10k JustGiving page.

AACT is making a difference to people with communication difficulties. Last year we received funding from the Big Lotteries Awards for All to pilot the use of cameras and video chat with children in special needs schools. We also have provided iPads to help the most in need communicate and to record their progress.

AACT is run entirely with volunteer effort but it does take a small amount of money to pay for the fixed overheads - everything from hosting our website to postage. I need your help please to keep us going. If I can raise just £1000 that will fund AACT for another year, so that we can continue to bid for resources and run projects that will make a real difference. Find out more from the AACT website.

I'm not a runner. In fact, last year was my first ever run, let alone 10k run. I've not run since. So please, dig deep and make my pain count!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please donate now.
