Our two year old came down with an inner ear infection whilst visiting family in Spain in January. She was very sick, and wasn't eating or drinking. Despite many doctors visits they sadly did not pick this up and so it wasn't realised until we got back to the UK.

Isla was given two types of antibiotics which did not fix the problem and after referral to Glangwili hospital in Carmarthen she was taken by ambulance to the Heath hospital in Cardiff on 14th Feb. That night she had surgery to remove the infection.

She then went on 3 months of drip fed antibiotics, plus injections morning and night for a blood clot on her brain and during hospitalisation also had swine flu, and neurovirus.

She'd lost over 15% of her bodyweight and didn't walk for over 3 weeks. Her recovery was slow and steady and with injections and drip fed medication.

As we live 103 miles from the hospital the house made a home for us to help escape ward life, get some rest and sanctuary and shoulders to bear weight and cry on during all of Isla's hospitalisation. Our then 10 year old Ethan was also able to come and stay to visit Isla on weekends

Thankfully Isla was given the all clear on 5th August.

We will be forever in the hospice, their staffs and the staff of the Noahs arks debt.
