I am running the Great North Run on 10th September 2017. I am raising money for the Sick Children's Trust.

During our time in Sheffield Children's Hospital with our son when he was born in Dec 2012, we would not have been able to be so close to him each and every day without the help of the Sick Children's Trust.

They provided us accommodation in "Treetop House" at the hospital for around 6 weeks free of charge. This allowed us to spend as much time as possible with our son without having to return home every night, which would have been a 1 hour trip each day.

Without the charity this would have added to the already very stressful and worrying time.

It costs the charity around £30 to house a family for 1 night and so you can imagine the cost of providing accommodation, cooking facilities, utensils, cutlery, toilet roll, bedding etc each year and how they heavily rely on donations.

Hopefully you will never need to call on the charity, but it is very important that they have he funds required to continue to help families in need. The charity have "home form homes" at Hospitals in Sheffield, Newcastle, Leeds, Cambridge and London.
